Mrs. Khadija Esannason, Uniondale, NY: "She inspired me , by showing me that I can be anything I wan t to be when I grow up. When I thought the math problems were hard, she helped me to keep trying and not quit.
She is one of my favorite teachers at Northern Parkway Elementary School. She taught me in 3rd grade and is now my current teacher in 4th Grade. I'm very thankful for everything she has taught me. For how patient and kind she has been to my classmates and I, she makes school a better place for me. I will always remember her, and the impact she's had on my life. She is now retiring, and I will miss her so much. I'm thankful for Mrs. Esannason because she's always kind to me, she never gets mad when I don't understand. She just takes her time to explain it to me. I feel safe and happy in her class."

Ms. Nettie Baker Lewis, Conway, SC (multiple nominations): "She changes lives daily as a special education teacher by believing in every student’s potential. I’m thankful for her patience, compassion, and dedication, which has always inspired everyone around her."
"Mrs.Lewis shows that there are people who truly care."

Mrs. Debra Lord, Rex, GA: "Since my 1st day of 8th grade she had showed me unconditional love, she pushed me to my full potential! She took me in as her own child & we still talk constantly even though i’m in high school now. I met her biological kids & husband & they are like my siblings & dad, she’s opened her arms & accepted me into her family."

Ms. Camille Lovelace, Carrollton, TX: "Mrs. Lovelace really pushed me to go for my goals. She was my first Black female teacher that I ever had in school throughout my childhood. On the days I didn’t feel motivated, she always boosted my motivation. Even into high school, we kept contact with each other and she eventually helped me earn a scholarship for college. She is the main reason I feel so encouraged to keep chasing my goals because watching her achieve her goals made me see that it is possible to achieve my goals. I earned my CNA certification my first semester of college in the fall semester of 2025. I’m so thankful for her being a huge part of my life from middle school even into college now. I know if I ever need help with something, I can reach out to her for guidance.

I am incredibly thankful for her unwavering dedication, her openness to partnership, and the love she pours into her students each day, which has truly made a lasting impact on both my child and our family."

Ms. Crystal Lynch, Richmond, IN: "Crystal Lynch Was an amazing teacher and gave high school a wonderful experience for me even on the hardest days ! 9th grade was our hardest year and we didn’t really hit it off but I truly understood the end of 9th grade she just wanted me to do better because she knew I could and she never doubted me not once just stuck beside me every step of the way! I truly believe without her I have no idea who I would be today or where I’d even be but because of her I was able to make graduation happen and graduated in 2024! She made sure to always make sure to check in on me if she saw me having a bad day or something even seemed off! She truly understood me as a student and a person and that’s exactly why I choose her for this nomination she deserves recognition!"

Ms. Blair Savage, Chicago, IL: "I'm thankful for the commitment and growth and Ms. Savage has demonstrated for her students and for herself. She is so creative and her test prep songs get students motivated and ready to shine!"
