Center Announces New Hire – Sean McGill, Philadelphia Regional Manager
We are pleased to welcome Sean McGill, who joined the Center on February 6, 2023, and will serve as Philadelphia Regional Manager. Sean will oversee the development and execution of programs and manage day-to-day operations for our Teacher Academy, Freedom School Literacy Academy, and after school tutoring programs in the Philadelphia area.
Sean is no stranger to the Center. He served previously as a Literacy Coach for Freedom Schools Literacy Academy and as a Professional Learning Facilitator.
Sean is a dedicated special education teacher and a native Baltimorean where he spent the last eight years serving gifted Black boys in his hometown. During his time as a special educator, his students saw significant growth in standardized state assessments. In addition to his time teaching middle-school students, Sean has served as a literacy coach and mentor teacher.
Sean holds a bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and is currently at NYU Steinhardt at work on a master’s degree.
