Leadership Academy for Black Educators
The AASA Leadership Academy for Black Educators will bring together transformative education professionals at different stages of their careers to discuss strategies for leading future-driven school systems that serve the needs of all learners.
The Academy will cover a series of modules that focus on the following topics:
-Equity & Cultural Responsiveness
-Ethics & Professional Norms
-Community of Care & Support for Students
-Professional Capacity of School Personnel
-Professional Community for Teachers & Staff
-Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
-Meaningful Family & Community Engagement
-Operations & Management
-School Improvement
The Academy will conclude with Capstone presentations that will demonstrate the participant's understanding of academy modules and discussions.
This is a hybrid program and sessions will take place both virtually and in-person.
