WE ARE AN UNSTOPPABLE MOVEMENT LIBERATING EDUCATION.

Our impact is clear—measured in numbers, testimonials, changed lives and disrupted systems.

Starting with one Freedom Schools Literacy Academy summer program in Philadelphia for 183 participants, we’ve grown in less than five years—through a pandemic—to multiple programs across the country, reaching 10,590 participants.

By significantly expanding in-person programming as well as virtual offerings, we continue to multiply our successes as we seek to rebuild the national Black teacher pipeline.

CENTER GOALS BY 2030

CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION EXPONENTIALLY EXPANDED

Teaching Academy CTE educator courses are offered in 25+ of top 100 majority Black public school districts and 15+ of top 25 majority Black public charter school networks with high schools.

Ninth and tenth graders taught using the Le Count-Catto Curriculum. Juniors and seniors engaged in evidence-based, culturally-affirming teaching practice.

KEY OPERATIONS SUSTAINED

100% of direct and indirect costs for Teaching Pathways programs and Professional Learning services are covered through partnerships with public-school districts and charter networks.

Professional Learning services are revenue neutral or positive within three years.

CAREERS OF EDUCATOR-ACTIVISTS ACCELERATED

Graduates of Teaching Pathways programs who commit to teaching in their home public-school district or charter network for at least five years are provided timely support, including Black Teacher Pipeline Fellowship scholarships.

All so they can earn a teaching degree and license with minimum debt.
